Dopo la nuova veste grafica il sito sara’ tradotto anche in inglese.
Nonostante la lunga permanenza in terre anglosassoni mi rendo conto che tutto puo’ sembrare molto maccheronico, ma si sa… diventando vecchi il cervello si cristalliza.
Quindi se qualcuno trova errori madornali e’ in dovere di segnalar(me)li.

Dall’ufficio dell’ Old Fire Station.
Tutto tranquillo.
Quasi troppo.
Ieri sera e’ stata notte di grande festa.
Party in costume.
Tema: gente del Bush (o anche redneck… colli bruciati dal sole)
Contadini Australiani.
E oggi tutti si sveglieranno alle tre di pomeriggio.
Con gli occhi gonfi e l’alito pesante.

Ma la cosa bella e’ un’altra.
Qui in ostello da qualche anno vive Hamish.
Nella vita ha fatto praticamente tutto.
Talmente tante cose che se non lo conosci bene pensi ti stia prendendo in giro.
Salvo poi renderti conto che se ti dice che fatto una cosa prima o poi avrai la dimostrazione che la sa fare davvero.
E benissimo.
Ma questo non importa.
Per il momento.
Spero di poter scrivere qualcosa in futuro sulle avventure di questa persona incredibile.

In realta’ Hamish viaggia con lo zaino in spalla da venticinque anni.
Ha visitato praticamente tutto il mondo.

Ha vissuto per alcuni anni in Svizzera, in California, Thailandia, isole del Sud Pacifico, Nuova Zelanda (da dove viene)… e mille altri posti ancora.
Sempre con lo zaino in spalla.
Lo zaino.
Appunto.
Che sta a un viaggiatore come il piano sta ad un compositore.
Hamish ha deciso di regalarmi il suo.

Un giorno come gli altri arriva.
Entra in ufficio.
E mi dice: “Ho una cosa per te”
Mi piazza lo zaino in mano, mi fa “portalo a spasso”, e se ne va.

Uno dei piu’ bei regali di sempre.

An Unexpected Gift.
From the office of the  Old Fire Station.
All quite.
Nearly too much.
Yesterday evening was night of big party.
Dressed up party.
Theme: people of the Bush (or also redneck… neck burnt from the sun)
Australian peasants.
And today everyone will wake up ay 3 pm.
With the swollen eyes and the heavy breath.
But the beautiful thing it’s something else.
Here in the hostel there is a guy that lives here since few years.
In his life he made practically everything.
So many things that if you do not know him  you can think he’s telling bullshit.
Except the fact to realise that he is really able to to a lot of stuff with his hand and his mind.
And very well.
But this is not important.
For the moment.
I hope of being able to write something in future on the adventures of this incredible person.
The fact is that Hamish has been travelling with his backpack for twenty five years.
He has been practically everywhere around the planet.
He has lived for some years in Switzerland, in California, Thailandia, islands of the Pacific South, New Zeland (his home country)… and thousand other places.
Always with the backpack on his  shoulder.
The backpack.
Exactly.
That it is to a traveller like the piano is to a composer.
Hamish has decided to give his to me.
A day as the others he arrives.
He come in the office.
And he says to me: ” I have a thing for you” he put his backpack in my hands,  telling me ” make him travel” , and he goes away
One of the most beautiful gifts ever.
